So daddy cut his hair in the kitchen. Sweet bud did not want to sit still. Thankfully curly hair is very forgiving.

Bye bye baby mullet
Well. We finally bit the bullet and did it. Poor Loyal was somewhere between a mullet and Bozo the clown--so it was time. It always hurts a mommy heart to pass these milestones. But I suppose it was inevitable...he is a boy after all.

Almost forgot!
In all of my updating I missed Rea's trip to the cow dairy! We went with her class again and saw all of the usual things. They had a lot more calves this time which was fun...and some of the calves were eager for some kid interaction. Rea and Loyal loved it! So sad we won't be visiting there again (unless we stay here and Loyal goes to preschool at First Baptist).
Backyard Camping
This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend and Josh had big plans for the kids. He got out the tent we have never used and put it up in the backyard for some camping. It took us over an hour to set the stupid thing up. We argued, we fussed, Loyal screamed...but we did it. And we did it without directions. Why is it that setting up a tent is always a pain and the directions never ever make sense.
Anyway, the kids spent the whole evening on Sunday playing in the tent and in the backyard. Even Loyal loved it. We picked up a pizza and had our dinner in that thing. Josh really wanted Loyal and I to sleep out there too but it didn't happen. Around 9:30pm, little man was deliriously tired and just refusing to give up. So I took him in and put him to bed in his room. He fell asleep almost immediately, so I headed back outside to hang out with Daddy, Wyatt and Rea.
The kids played with glow sticks and Daddy broke out the sparklers. Around 10:30, I decided to go to bed and so they settled in for the night too. Josh said they did great--Rea woke up once because she was cold and had to put on a jacket. Not sure how well Josh slept, but the next morning he told me we needed to get some mats for under our sleeping bags. haha. I'm not too sorry that I didn't sleep out there with them. It's such a special memory that Wyatt and Reagan will always have with their Daddy.
The next morning they stayed outside and played in the tent until lunch time. They were "explorers" and then tent was the "clubhouse". I even had to "show ID" to get in and bring them some drinks. We took the tent down Monday evening and I'm pretty sure everyone was sad about it. Hopefully we can do it again really soon.

Rea's preschool graduation
My baby girl has graduated from preschool. She graduated on Thursday May 21. It was brutal. We have had a child in attendance at First Baptist Playschool for the last four years. I have really grown to love the sweet teachers. Leni, Tami and Melissa have loved my babies so well and I could never repay them for that. They have helped carry my kids through deployments, discipline issues and new baby brothers. They have poured their hearts into Wyatt and Reagan and it shows. So, I held it together. Not a tear from me, yet.
The ceremony was adorable. The kids wore tiny caps and gowns and marched out to "Pomp and Circumstance". (May I just add that I am so thankful that I don't have to see Rea in a cap and gown again for another 13 years). The kids sang a few songs and then got their "diplomas". After it was over, we took some pictures with the teachers and THEN...
Then Rea started to cry. She didn't want to leave her school. She didn't want to leave her teachers. I held her there on the front row in that sanctuary and cried with her. Brutal. She loves this place and so do I. We have no way of knowing if we'll still be here in two years when Loyal starts preschool. As much as I want to get the heck out of Lemoore, I would be thrilled to have Loyal at that school.
So another Keever moves on and heads to Kindergarten next year. Where has the time gone?

Tulare Antique Tractor Show
We took the kids to the Tulare Antique Tractor Show one Saturday morning. I had heard about it on the radio and thought it sounded like something my boys (Josh included) would enjoy. Wyatt had been sick with a stomach bug the days before, but was feeling better, so I thought it was also a good opportunity to get him out of the house for a bit.
There were so many old trucks and tractors. There were antiques. There were animals. There were rides for the kids. It was awesome. Everyone loved it. Loyal kept shouting "ta tor!" I think it's safe to say that this will be an annual Keever family event. Added bonus: it wore the kids out and nap time was heavenly.
The Goat Dairy and Grandparents Day
On Nana's last day in town, she had quite the schedule. First, we headed to the goat dairy with Reagan's class at 10. We spent about an hour there, feeding baby goats, before taking Nana to Wyatt's school for Granparents Day. She visited there for an hour or so and then we headed out for lunch. Later that evening, we all returned to Wyatt's school for a musical that the kids had been preparing especially for their grandparents and their families. It was wonderful. It was called "Back to the Cross". It had children time traveling and learning what would have happened in their community had a certain church never been planted and been around to tell the world about Jesus. The end conclusion is that it all comes "back to the cross". I was so proud of Wyatt and so impressed that he memorized so many songs and hand motions to go with them!
I was glad that my mom could do something with each of their schools. Any chance we get to have our family further involved in our lives, we jump on it. And I'm glad that my mom gets the opportunity to see all of the things the kids are always telling her about.

Sequoia
The day after Easter, the kids had the day off from school--it was the last day of spring break here. We decided we should drive up into the mountains and take my mom to see the Giant Sequoias. She had never seen them and we only live an hour away from Sequoia National Park, so why not? We drove to Visalia and had breakfast at our favorite breakfast spot, the Corner Cafe and then headed into the mountains. It was SO cold up there. I believe it was in the 60s down in the valley, but in the 30s up at the trees. Brrrr. Good thing we brought extra jackets and boots! On our way out of the park, we stopped and had pizza at the Pizza Palace near Three Rivers, California (our traditional after park meal). We stopped at a local strawberry patch and grabbed a huge carton of the valley's best fruit and then headed home for naps.
Easter
Easter was amazing this year! While we missed having Isaac, Heather, Ava and Emma with us (they moved to Maryland last year)...we got a special treat--my mom (Nana) came to visit! We have a wonderful day of celebrating our Savior and enjoying a day of fellowship. What a blessing and a privilege to have family together on a holiday!
