Santa brought us a new car...so we had to go thank him

Well, Santa brought us a new car! We got a Chevy Traverse, and we're loving it! We needed more room than the 'ol Blazer could provide...so we upgraded. Don't worry, Old Blue is still in the family--we just have a roomier travel vehicle.



So we figured we needed to go thank Santa for such an amazing present...and Wyatt needed to meet our generous benefactor, so we headed up to the Bass Pro Shops. Yep, you read that right. Only in Alabama would Santa reside at the local Bass Pro Shops. We were expecting a redneck, Billy Bob Thornton sort of Santa, but surprisingly this Santa was awesome! It was absolutely precious seeing our little Wyatt on Santa's knee. He did great! There was no crying and our little man was completely enthralled with the raccoon puppet the photographer was waving around. So here are some pictures from this momentous occasion.

So far behind

I am so far behind on my blogging! I'm so sorry to all of those who check our blog...life has been crazy since Thanksgiving. We've been preparing for Christmas, watching lots of football and spending lots of time with Nana and Caesar (my mom and stepdad).

Wyatt is still growing like a weed...he's weighing in around fifteen pounds now. He's also decided that his toes make for a lovely pacifier. He has taken an interest in some of his toys which is really fun to watch...and nice, because now I'm able to get a few things done around here since he can entertain himself. The little guy also never stops "talking". He talks to himself, to his toys, to Buck (our dog), and to us of course. But the biggest development in Wyatt's life, as of late, is that we started him on rice cereal. It's pretty much a mess every time we try...but I know he'll get the hang of it eventually. Plus, an extra full baby belly might equal a full night's sleep for mom and dad.

Anyway, in our near future is Christmas break. Thank goodness! Josh has finals next week and then we're off to Birmingham. We'll be in Birmingham with my parents through Christmas Day, and then the day after Christmas we're headed to Ohio to see Josh's family. We are so excited to get up there--we haven't seen Grandma and Grandpa Keever since September! We'll be in Ohio through New Years, so it will be a nice long visit. Maybe we'll get to see some snow and have a white Christmas!

Well, I'll try to post some new pictures soon...I just need to get them off of our camera and onto a computer first!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a hectic holiday, as usual...but it was wonderful to visit with family and friends.

First we drove to Birmingham to see my mom, Frank, Trey (my brother), Lindsey (Trey's girlfriend), and my grandparents. It was great to spend time with them and to have a wonderful dinner at GianMarco's in Homewood.

Then we drove over to Atlanta to spend the remainder of the weekend (and Thanksgiving Day) with my dad, Deborah, some more of my grandparents, Jon (my brother), and a bunch of family friends. Trey and Lindsey also made it to Atlanta on Friday.

If I tried to record all the details of our trip, this post would be a mile long...so I will spare you the details and just post some pictures. We hope that you all had as wonderful a weekend as we did!

Just wanted to share...

Just wanted to share a couple of pictures...Wyatt finally fit into one of my old outfits today! I'm really excited, because up until this point, he's only worn Uncle Trey's old clothes. Plus, there aren't too many things that used to be mine that are gender neutral. Anyway, just thought he looked precious and wanted to share...

We dedicated Wyatt to the Lord this morning in church. It was such a special service and it was so wonderful to show everyone there what a precious gift God has given us. After church my mother had a little photo session with Wyatt...

4 Month Check-Up

Wyatt had his four month check-up this morning. He weighed in at 14 pounds 4 ounces, and was 26 1/2 inches long! He's growing like a weed! This puts him in the 95 percentile on his length and the 50 percentile for his weight. So he is one long skinny baby! He also got his four month shots (poor baby). There was some crying, by mommy and baby....but he did great. Anyway, just wanted to share the size updates with everyone!

Fun times in JAX

We finally made it back tonight from our long weekend in Jacksonville, Florida. We took Wyatt down there to meet some more of his extended family. Sadly, we had to leave Buck at a kennel, but he had an absolute blast and has slept ever since we got home.

Our weekend started with what should have been a six hour drive but ended up taking a little over seven hours. Wyatt was not having his car seat anymore, so we had to stop at an Arby's and actually go in and eat. That way the little guy could have a small break. We got into JAX around 9pm Friday night. We stayed at Isaac (Josh's brother) and Heather's apartment. Ike, Heather and their little girl, Ava, were out of town though...so we had the place to ourselves.

Saturday, we took it easy and enjoyed a day of football and playing with Wyatt. Josh and I were both in fabulous moods since Ohio State and Alabama both won their games. I was a bit rattled after Bama's game, though...they almost lost it.





Sunday we got up and had some Panera Bread for breakfast and did a little shopping before heading to my Aunt Joy's house. Aunt Joy prepared a fabulous lunch for everyone who was there visiting. The guest list included: Aunt Joy, Uncle Dan, my grandfather (Papa), Susan (Papa's lady friend), my cousin Kristen, Jon (Kristen's husband), Walker (Kristen's adorable little boy), my cousin Kenny, Kristen Marie (his wife), Rusty (Kenny and Kristen Marie's dog), my cousin Alan and my cousin Jordan. And of course Josh, myself and Wyatt were all there. We had such a great time getting to catch up with everyone and letting them get acquainted with Wyatt.



Monday was a very busy day for the three of us. First thing in the morning we headed to my paternal grandmother's house (Mimi Barbara) to visit with her and my Aunt Cindy. Wyatt was, of course, his sweet self and played with Aunt Cindy for over an hour. I think he even chatted her up a little. Hopefully we can get back and see Mimi again really soon--Wyatt just loved her.



After visiting with those lovely ladies, we headed to Sawgrass (golf club) to meet Papa for lunch at the new clubhouse. It was spectacular and the food was amazing. Papa even took us on a tour...Josh got to see the Champions locker room--a place that is normally off limits to us regular folks. But Papa has connections...








After our super cool lunch, we headed over to see my great Aunt Joanne and Uncle Verl. They are my dad's aunt and uncle and are so special to me. I grew up going to their house and taking trips to Disney World with them. We are so glad that they got to meet little Wyatt--their great, great nephew.



When we left the Moser's, we made a quick stop by Arlington Park Cemetery. My grandmother, Mimi, is buried there. She died almost three years ago, just after Josh and I were married. I miss her every day. I really wish she had been able to meet her great grandson in person, but I know that she can see him from Heaven. Her spot looked nice and someone had left her some fall themed flowers. Wyatt checked it all out too...



Once we were done visiting Mimi, we headed back to Isaac and Heather's place. They had finally gotten home from their weekend out-of-town. For the remainder of Monday and half of Tuesday (today) we just hung out and enjoyed their company. Little Ava is getting so big and turning into such a beautiful little girl. It was her first birthday this past Saturday, so she had lots of new toys to show off...





We left Jacksonville after lunch time today and drove back to Montgomery. Buck fell asleep as soon as he got his bath...Wyatt did the exact same thing. Now Josh and I are just trying to get set up for the rest of our week. Speaking of which, the rest of our week will include Josh going to class, me doing laundry and then all of us heading to Birmingham for the weekend. The party never stops at the Keever house!

By the way, a big THANK YOU to all of our veterans out there! (It is Veterans' Day today). Without your sacrifice and service to this country, our freedom would not exist. So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Addendum to the Accomplishment

So I just realized that the entire video of Wyatt rolling over didn't post. Shoot! I'll have to try to capture it again later. But I promise you--Wyatt rolled from his back to his tummy all by himself! And he did it several times...I'll try to get another video tonight. haha

Wyatt's big accomplishment

Wyatt hit a major baby-milestone today! He rolled over all by himself! I didn't catch the first, second or third time on video...but I did catch the fourth! Every time I aimed the camera at him, he'd stopped rolling and stare at the strange thing that Mommy was holding. haha. So this video is halfway through the roll, but you get the idea...

A Weekend in Atlanta...

We just got back from a wonderful weekend in Atlanta, visiting my Dad (Granddaddy), step mom (Grandmother Deborah), and my step mom's parents (Grammie and Grandpa). We had such a great time visiting and letting them spend some time with their grandson (who they hadn't seen since his birth). We ended up going to the Georgia Tech v. Florida State football game downtown. Josh and I aren't necessarily fans of either team, but we do love some college football--so it was a good time. My dad is a huge FSU fan, which is why we were there to begin with. Sadly, his team didn't quite pull it out...but we weren't too disappointed--my youngest brother goes to Georgia Tech, so we still had a family victory, I suppose. On our way back to the car, after the game, Josh and I spotted these fabulous jackets (see below)...maybe we'll get them for Christmas. haha. While we were at the game, Wyatt was home with Grandmother Deborah and Grammie...from what I understand, they had a fabulous time together too.




But we're home now. Wyatt has been having some bonding time with Daddy tonight...play and laughing a lot. For whatever reason, Josh is apparently the funniest person on the planet to Wyatt. It's really sweet to see them together...



This week we'll just be doing laundry and recovering from the trip to Atlanta. We will also be preparing to leave again on Friday--we're headed to Jacksonville, Florida this time. We're really excited about the trip. Wyatt will finally get to meet more of his extended family, including: his great grandfather (Papa), his great grandmother (Mimi Barbara), his great, great aunt and uncle (Uncle Verl and Aunt Moser) and a bunch of his cousins. We'll also see Uncle Dan and Aunt Joy as well as Uncle Isaac, Aunt Heather and cousin Ava. Josh has several days off next week, so it will be nice to be able to really spend some quality time with family. We will definitely have some pictures to share after all of that...
