Happy New Year!

Hard to believe that in a few short hours, it will be 2010!

I have to admit, I'll miss 2009...Josh and I have been so blessed this year. Wyatt had his first birthday, Reagan was born, we moved to California and live in a wonderful house, we have been healthy and completely happy...I could go on and on. This year was so good that I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us in the year to come.

We hope you all have a wonderful evening celebrating the coming of a new chapter and we hope that your 2010 is blessed beyond measure.

Day one...

Today is day one at home alone with TWO children for me. I have to say...ever since Reagan was born (almost two weeks ago) I've been dreading this day. The day that my mother went home and the day that my husband went back to work. I even cried last night like a small child when my parents pulled away and headed for the airport. But the good news is that it hasn't been as bad as I expected it would be. Granted, it's been rather overwhelming--I'm having to find new ways to deal with Wyatt since I can't physically pick him up or play with him the way I'm used to (thanks c-section). And it seems that every time I become engaged with Wyatt, Reagan needs something...and every time I sit down to nurse Reagan, Wyatt decides it's time to run-a-muck through the house. Sigh.

I'm sure we'll all get used to this and get adjusted sooner or later. For now, it's nap time and I'm going to enjoy the quiet while I can...maybe Wyatt will sleep long enough that we won't have too long before Daddy gets home once he wakes up. Fingers crossed!

Reagan June Keever

Reagan was born this past Friday, December 18th at 12:33pm. She weighed in at 7 pounds 3.5 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. We are so thrilled to finally have her here with us and have enjoyed each day so far. The c-section went fantastic and Reagan is just perfect. Thank you for all of your prayers and support while we were in the hospital! We can't wait for each of you to meet her in person! Stayed tuned for updates in the next few days as we get settled in...

Had about enough...

Well, I have officially reached the point where I feel like I might explode! This baby is getting a lot bigger than what my body was intended to hold...the braxton hicks contractions are becoming quite frequent (and sometimes painful), meanwhile I can no longer tie my own shoes or get off the couch without assistance. Let's just say that I've had about enough...aside from all of that, things are great. The pregnancy is progressing as it should and we're getting really close to having our little girl in the world with us.

I'm getting especially excited about all of the family that is getting ready to visit us. My mom will be here in less than two weeks and my dad, brother, stepdad and in-laws will follow closely behind. I have been in complete family withdrawal since we left Alabama in July. I can't wait to just hang out at home and soak up all the family time!

Now, if only that time would get here quickly...maybe then I'll be able to eat more than a spoonful of something without feeling like I might barf...oh the joys of pregnancy.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our family and friends!

I know it's actually the night before Thanksgiving as I write this...but tomorrow I'm going to be knee-deep in turkey, stuffing and all the fixings so I wanted to put out a few good wishes tonight!

We are so thankful for each and every one of you. You have all touched our lives and blessed us in so many ways! So, here's a big thank you from the Keevers--THANK YOU!

I am personally thankful for so many things...my wonderful husband, my precious little boy and my little girl on the way (and Buck, the best dog ever). I'm thankful for an extended family that provides me with the support I need to be a good Navy wife (behind every sailor is a good woman and behind that woman is a wonderful family, they say). I am thankful for all of my friends who listen when I need them to listen and who talk when I need them to talk. And most importantly I am thankful for the sacrifice of my Lord and Savior, without which I would surely be lost.

Some belly photos for all of the followers...

I know that I mentioned in the last post how huge I am...so I thought I would share some recent belly pictures with everyone. And to answer the question that will surely follow--yes, Wyatt is licking my belly in the one picture. haha. We asked him to give his sister a kiss, and that is what he did. Boys!

Halloween and beyond

As Halloween crept up on us, we had to make the big family decision--to trick or treat or not to trick or treat. Josh and I have decided for now to not take our children trick or treating. We have concerns about the safety of it and would rather our kids be at the church harvest festival than running around the neighborhood with the gaggle of "interesting" children who came by our house this year. haha. So for now, no trick or treating for the Keever kids. Thankfully Wyatt is too young to really care and Reagan isn't even here yet.

Anyway, once we made our decision we had to decide what to do with Wyatt instead of romping around the neighborhood to collect candy that we'd never let him eat...we wound up settling on the church fall festival. We met our good friends, the Sinclairs, there and our little ones had such a blast. They had plenty of candy and treats...and Wyatt had his first go-round in a bounce house. I'm fairly certain that he was in heaven all night! Daddy even gave him his own carton of popcorn. Wyatt was dressed as a cowboy and his friend, Paige, was Nemo...they were just precious!







After Halloween, we've just been slowly preparing for the upcoming holidays and the arrival of our newest baby. Since I am massively pregnant, we'll be spending all of the holidays here at home. While we'll miss seeing all of our family at Thanksgiving, we're definitely okay with not traveling. I feel like all we've done for the last year is drive around the country! For Thanksgiving I'm going to attempt to make Thanksgiving dinner all by myself. Hopefully I can pull it off...but, if I mess anything up, I'm pretty sure that Wyatt, Josh and Buck won't care in the slightest.

Following Thanksgiving, we'll be getting Christmas decorations up and getting the house cleaned for a long visit from my mom! I can't wait until she gets here! She's going to come and help us take care of Wyatt while I'm in the hospital having the new baby. After mom gets here, Trey and Frank will show up for the week of Christmas. Once they leave, we're expecting my dad and Deborah for about a week...and then Josh's parents will be here towards the end of January. I'm so excited to have all of them here for this special time in our lives! This could be the best Christmas ever!

So, that's the plan...I'll try to keep the blog posted as we continue to prepare!

Fall so far...

So far we've had a lovely fall here in Hanford. We haven't done much that's exciting...but we have watched a lot of football and visited a pumpkin patch. Here are a few pictures of Wyatt's first pumpkin picking experience...






I feel like we're finally settled in the new house, although there is still some more decorating to get done. We're in the process of hanging pictures and finding places for all of the little nicknacks we've acquired over the last four years. My goal is to get it all done before Thanksgiving, so that we can just relax and enjoy the last three weeks before the c-section. I really want to spend lots of quality time with my little man, Wyatt, before he has to share my attention with his new sister.

Speaking of his new sister...I had another doctor's appointment this past week. I finally saw a doctor at the Naval Hospital that I really like. She said that everything is looking great with Miss Reagan. Baby girl is head down now, but I didn't need the doctor to tell me that. I am feeling a ridiculous amount of pressure and some pain in my pelvis...I'm also getting a lot of kicks to the ribs. It's getting a little harder to get up and down off of the couch, but I'm still doing okay--just moving a little slower than normal. It won't be long now and all of these things will be distant memories--I can't wait!

We're planning on spending the month of November at home, not doing a whole lot. Josh will be working and Wyatt and I will be playing and taking care of things at the house. If anything exciting happens, or we get something worth updating about...I will be sure to write a new post! Until then...we love you all!

Lately...

Since our last post, we have been unpacking, playing a lot and just getting settled into our new home.

We also flew out to Ohio for the wedding of Josh's brother, Jacob, on September 26th. It took a number of plane flights to get out there and back, but was well worth the trip. The wedding was beautiful and we got to spend a lot of time hanging out with the family and a bunch of friends. It was such great timing for a trip home since I'm getting way too pregnant to fly. We stayed in Ohio for a week and then headed back home.

Upon our arrival at home, we were greeted by an unwelcome guest--the flu. Fortunately, I was the only one to get it. Josh and Wyatt managed to dodge that bullet. Thanks to the Lord's healing hand, I was only ill for a day or two and the baby was not affected at all.

I also had another prenatal appointment as soon as we got home. Everything is right on track with Miss Reagan and all of my measurements are right where they should be. So the countdown is on until Christmas Day! We're so excited about our little girl's arrival and about all of the family planning to be here for it.

On the horizon for the Keevers--a quick trip to San Diego! We're headed down for the weekend to visit our good friend, Sara. We haven't seen her in forever and her husband is deployed right now. So hopefully we can keep her busy enough to forget about that for a little while. She has a little puggle named Dixie, who is Buck's very best friend. I can't wait to see the reunion between these two dogs--we can't even say Dixie's name without Buck getting wound up. We're also planning to visit Josh's great aunt, Aunt Loretta, who lives on Coronado. It should be a great time and be just what we need before all traveling must come to a halt.

The new house

Well, I finally took a few pictures of the new house. We're still working on the decorating, but you can get the idea. It's a great house--4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. It's just perfect for our growing family. And we have a pool! Hopefully we'll be doing a lot of entertaining in the future.






Our newest addition to the house is some patio furniture. We figured it might be nice to have something to sit on while we're outside enjoying the back yard...Wyatt helped Daddy put it all together!




We've really been enjoying the pool. It's so nice to be able to hop in on these hot California afternoons! Wyatt especially loves to float around...



Last Saturday was our first college game day here in the new house. It was pretty amazing to be able to watch college football for fifteen hours straight. When we woke up at 6:45am, ESPN Game Day was already on (since we're on Pacific time now). The last game ended around 10:00pm. Crazy! Wyatt got pretty festive for the big Buckeye game that morning...



As far as the new baby Keever...we have finally picked a name! Our sweet little girl will be called Reagan June. We were down to two names that were our favorite and let my brother, Trey, decide which one we went with. We're thrilled with his decision. haha. Anyway, Miss Reagan is growing like a weed and is making my belly huge!



That's not the best picture, but you get the idea. We still have no idea when she will be delivered exactly, but hopefully we will know something soon. My next OBGYN appointment is on September 30th. So we'll keep you posted!

Other than that, we haven't been up to much. Just trying to get settled in and get Wyatt acclimated to his new environment. In the near future we have lots of football watching, hanging out with friends, Josh's brother's wedding and a potential visit from my best friend Taylor and her husband, Josh. So, check back for more updates!

We made it!

Sorry I haven't updated the blog in a while...things have been nuts since we finally arrived in Hanford, California! We did, in fact, make it to our new house last Saturday. We have been in the middle of an unpacking and organizing firestorm ever since. I think we're finally making some headway...we're in the process of getting all of the pictures hung and decorative items placed. I haven't taken pictures yet, because I'm waiting until things are finished. But I promise I will take some soon and post them.

Anyway, that's pretty much all we've been up to. I had my introductory OBGYN appointment today. We just met with a nurse who got us introduced to the new hospital and doctors today. Tuesday we'll go back in for an official appointment...so I'll let you know how that goes. For all who are keeping count, I will be 24 weeks on Friday. So we're over the half way point. Hopefully the doctor will let us go ahead and schedule our c-section so that I can share that with the family for travel purposes...and so we can have a date to count down to! For now, we'll count down to Christmas Day (my due date).

The Grand Canyon and Zion National Park

So this morning we woke up and drove down to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. It took us about an hour to get there and once in the park, another half an hour to hike out to the edge. We probably could have hiked it faster, had I not been so slow. Pregnant women should probably not be allowed to hike such trails. Poor Josh was constantly stopping and waiting on me. But once we made it to the edge, it was quite a sight. It was much greener than pictures I've seen of the canyon before. I'm guessing it's because most people see it from the southern rim...we were at the northern rim. Anyway, if you're in good hiking shape I would highly recommend visiting this vista...




Once we had taken it all in...we headed back north and hit Zion National Park in Utah. I had never heard of this place before, but it was on our way and Josh loves his national parks. It was pretty amazing. It's hard to even take it all in...you drive through these unbelievable crevices that wind around the biggest rocks I've ever seen. We even got to drive through one of the mountains...there was a long tunnel carved through it. Pretty cool! After exiting the tunnel we caught a glimpse of main attraction at this park--the Great Arch. Not sure how it was formed, but it was spectacular. The pictures just don't capture how huge it is.





We then left Zion and headed to Las Vegas, Nevada--which is where we are as I type. Nope, no gambling or partying for the Keevers. We're just catching up on a little rest and then getting up really early to start the final leg of our trip. That's right! By tomorrow night, we will have made it to our new home in Hanford, California. So check back...I'll try to post some pictures of the new house and of our drive tomorrow!

4 Wonderful Years!

Just wanted to say Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband! These last four years have been the best years of my life! You have given me so much to be thankful for and I hope one day I can come close to repaying you! I love you with all of my heart!

More of the trip...

So in the last couple of days we have seen Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and Cedar Breaks National Monument in Utah. Both of which were amazing. Truly some of the most beautiful places we've ever been. I would highly recommend visiting both if you have the time.

Yesterday, we drove through Yellowstone...






After visiting the massive park, we spent the night in Salt Lake City. It was a really nice city that I could see us visiting again. Josh was really sweet and booked us a really big suite at the Hilton--so we got some much needed rest and relaxation. We also discovered that our dog, Buck is becoming a bit spoiled and prissy...



Before we left Salt Lake City we ate at a fabulous BBQ place--Pat's. I would highly recommend it, if you're ever in the area.



We then left Salt Lake and headed for Cedar Breaks National Monument.



After leaving Cedar Breaks, we headed down to a small town called Kanab, Utah. We're staying here for the night and then going to see the northern rim of the Grand Canyon in the morning. We're pretty excited about seeing it and are excited about the prospect of getting so close to our final destination. Stay tuned for more pictures and updates!!!

My brother, the World Champion!

Just wanted to share with everyone that my brother, Trey, won the track and field world championships today! He competed in the decathlon and did an amazing job! Here are a few pictures....
