Ducks and roosters

Flip Video test

My brother, Trey, got Josh and I a Flip Video for Christmas this year and I'm just now figuring out how to use it. So I took a quick ten second clip of Reagan sleeping on the couch and I'm going to attempt to post it on the blog...hope it works!

Big boy Wyatt

Wyatt had his 18 month check up on Tuesday morning. I can hardly believe that my little boy is already 18 months old! The appointment went as well as it could have...Wyatt now remembers exactly what happens at the doctors office which means the crying starts when they put him on the scale to get his weight. There was a break in his freaking out once we were alone in the exam room, but then the pediatrician came in. haha. Our little...excuse me, big boy now weighs 23 pounds 7 ounces and was 33 inches long. He's come a long way from the 7 pound little guy that first came into our lives. He also passed his autism screening with flying colors. So we are happy to report that we have a healthy, rambunctious, curious son.

He has been doing fantastic at home with his new sister. Truthfully, I was a little concerned before Reagan was born that Wyatt wouldn't handle the transition well. He loves being the center of attention and is quite the little performer. I worried that once I wasn't able to indulge him at every moment that he would not be happy. But he has done beautifully. He mostly ignores Reagan until she cries...then he points at her and looks at me like he would like me to make her stop. He does give her tons of kisses though. It's really sweet, but kind of gross since he's teething and thus has the snottiest nose ever. I'm sure Reagan doesn't even realize that she's being coated in his snot, so I just let Wyatt be as affectionate as he wants.

I think the little guy might actually love having Reagan here. It means that he's allowed to be a little more independent than he was before. He gets to watch his shows on PBS by himself in his big boy chair...he gets to color in the kitchen...he gets to look at his books on his own terms...and he gets to sneak a marshmallow or two while mommy is feeding Reagan...life is good for Wyatt Timothy right now. Here are a few pictures of his days lately...sorry the quality is bad--they're off my cell phone.

Here he is coloring with his big boy crayons in the kitchen...

This is how I found him (notice the pants) when I went to get him after his nap...

And this is Wyatt riding Reagan's pink cow that our friends Lindsay and Travis sent her (Wyatt steals all of Reagan's cool gifts)...

Reagan's first Bama game

How fortunate for Reagan that the first Alabama game she watches happens to be the National Championship Game that Bama wins! Wyatt is an old pro at game day, so he helped break his new sister in. Here are a couple of pictures of our own little football party...please excuse Wyatt's drooly shirt (he's getting four molars right now) and please excuse my appearance. I'm not sure anyone looks fabulous after a long day with two little ones!

Oh yeah! I almost forgot!

Reagan at 2 weeks

Reagan went in for her two week check-up yesterday. She was just perfect and is, of course, growing like a weed. When she was born she weighed 7 pounds, 3 1/2 ounces....yesterday she weighed in at 7 pounds, 8 ounces. The doctor was really pleased with her weight gain and even more pleased that her jaundice has all but gone away. She won't have to go back until her two month check-up...which is a very welcome break after all of the bilirubin checks we've been through in the last couple of weeks.

Wyatt is still doing great. He's becoming more and more aware of Reagan's presence in our lives, but he doesn't seem to mind at all. He is constantly giving his little sister hugs and kisses...granted, we're having to make sure that they are gentle hugs and kisses....but he's been a sweetheart regardless.

I go in for a check-up with my OB tomorrow and after that, Wyatt has his 18 month check-up next week.....so stayed tuned for more updates!
