Last weekend--Sequoia

Last weekend after church, we were driving to lunch. For the first time in a long time we could see the mountains to the east side of the valley in which we live--the Sierra Nevadas. Josh looked at me and said, "Lets drive up there today!". I was shocked...he's not exactly Mr. Spontaneous. But I agreed that it was just too gorgeous out not to. So we ate lunch, ran home, changed clothes and headed to the mountains and Sequoia National Park. We anticipated that there would be snow, but had no idea just how much....while up there, we also managed to hike a half mile in the wrong direction attempting to find the General Sherman tree. The kids were troopers and hung in there with us...but we were all cold, wet and exhausted by the end. To say we all slept well that night would be an understatement.
