J.D. Mello Dairy

On April 19th, Wyatt's preschool class took a field trip to a local dairy. The J.D. Mello Dairy has been in operation for three generations.  They have over 2000 cows and milk at least 1000 cows a day.  Pretty impressive operation they have going.  It was definitely an experience and very educational. We had excellent timing because the kids got to see a calf being born while we were there.  I couldn't tell if the kids were in awe or were terrified by what was happening...at least they learned something. After the tour of the facility, all of the kids got to have milk and cookies for a snack.  How very appropriate.
