The big move and a new camera

As we speak Josh is driving all of our belongings (in a huge moving truck) out to California. The last time I talked to him he was just outside of Oklahoma City...so he's making progress. The plan is for Josh to put our things in storage out there while Wyatt and I stay in Birmingham, Alabama with my parents. Next week, Wyatt and I will fly (with my parents) out to Eugene, Oregon to watch my brother compete in the US Championship Track Meet. Josh will fly up and meet us there for the weekend. Then Josh, Wyatt and I will drive back down to California and spend ten days house hunting. Assuming we find a house to rent/buy, Wyatt and I will come back to Alabama and wait on Josh to fly back and drive with us out to California. Whew! Makes me tired just thinking about it.

But I am so thankful for a husband who is willing to drive cross-country twice and load and unload boxes for days on end. Especially when I am unable to help very much--being pregnant and all. So my end of the deal hasn't been all that bad. (Thanks honey!)

Anyway, because we have so many fun trips coming up, we went ahead and sprung for a new camera. We got the Nikon D90 and so far I'm loving it! It's slow going because I'm having to learn how to use it--it's not like using a point and click camera. But every picture I take gets better and better. Hopefully by the time we head to Oregon next week, I'll have it down. So here's the first official picture taken with this new, fancy camera...good thing Wyatt is a willing subject!

Wyatt's First Birthday Party

Wyatt had his first birthday party this past weekend. His actual birthday isn't until July 10th, but because we're in the process of moving to California we had to go ahead and have the party early. It was so much fun. We had a ton of family in from out of town and a lot of friends stopped by for the festivities as well. Thanks to my mom and Frank for hosting the party at their house! Here are some pictures of the weekend...

Memorial Day Weekend

For the holiday weekend, we went down to Pensacola Beach with my mom and stepdad. We had a great time eating wonderful meals and just enjoying the company. We ate at a few of our favorite places, including: The Fish House, Bagelheads, McGuire's, and Peg Leg Pete's. I wish I could eat like that every weekend!

Wyatt had a blast. I think he enjoyed a less structured day...and I think he liked being able to play in a condo where there wasn't anything he couldn't play with. He also managed to squeeze in some naked time between diaper changes. I can't wait to take him to the beach again...he's turning into quite the water bug.

Once we got home from the beach, we started packing. On Saturday we will be moving out of our apartment and temporarily moving in with my parents. Josh will head out to California in the middle of June to get our stuff in storage and to start his refresher class in the jet. Then Wyatt and I will head out there to house hunt at the end of the month. Hopefully we'll find a house quickly so that we can all permanently move soon!

That's it for us right now. It'll be a busy month...I'll update again soon!

A big announcement!

Well folks...the Keevers have a big announcement!

We are expecting our second child on Christmas Day! We found out that I was pregnant a few weeks ago and have been bursting at the seams to tell everyone. Our original goal was to spill the beans to our families at Wyatt's birthday party (June 6th). But I have already developed a tummy and we have a beach trip planned with my parents this weekend for Memorial Day. We thought the belly might be a little suspicious...so we went ahead and told everyone.

I'm feeling as good as could be expected at this stage of the game. I feel exactly like I did when I was pregnant with Wyatt--sick and tired. This time around is actually a little better because I'm more aware of how to keep the puking at bay. So far there has been no throwing up, just feeling generally crappy. I thought Wyatt wore me out before, but man does he make me tired now! Fortunately I have the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom, so I am able to catch a nap every day while Wyatt is napping. This time is much better also because I know that this early pregnancy feeling won't last forever. So basically I'm doing great!

Anyway, just wanted to share our news with all of our blog readers! We'll keep you posted on baby #2 and all of our progress!

A few new pictures...

Wyatt being...well, himself

Josh had Wyatt at the computer, and was showing him all of the videos of his flights while overseas...each of these videos is set to some sort of music. Well, Wyatt of course was dancing in Josh's lap...but every time he saw me and noticed the camera, he turned into the big ham that he is.

First swim of the season

Wyatt went for his first swim of the season this afternoon. He loved it! He hasn't been swimming since last September when he was about three months old...so this was basically a new experience for him. I think we'll be spending a lot of time at the pool this summer.
