Wyatt's first laugh

Okay...so this is the most precious (and hilarious) thing Wyatt has ever done. I am so thankful that we caught this on video (albeit a bad video, but still a video). Hope it makes you laugh as much as it made us laugh.

A regular week...

Well, it's been a regular week so far. By regular I mean that Josh has gone to class, Wyatt and I have hung out at home and we've watched TV all together at night until bed time. Exciting, I know.

There has been somewhat of a development around here though...Wyatt is slowly adopting his own version of a schedule. (Every mother lives for "the schedule"). He's up around 6:30 every morning. Then he eats, poops and coos a little before falling back asleep by 8. He'll usually sleep for about an hour then wakes up to eat again. For the rest of the day it is a series of 45 minute cat naps, followed by several dirty diapers and lots of eating. He is usually in bed by 10pm and hasn't been waking again until 4:30am or so. Then he eats and goes back to sleep until the whole process starts over again. Long story short--we're finally getting more sleep and I still have a baby attached to my boob basically all day long.

I tried to weigh Wyatt myself (on the bathroom scale) the other day. As best as I can guesstimate, he's weighing in around 13 pounds now. So he's getting big! He's incredibly long...haven't taken the time to measure him though. As a result of his growing, I had the sad moment of putting away his newborn clothes that no longer fit him. I just sat there looking at these sweet little nightgowns and onesies that are so tiny, marveling at how far he's come from that bright red, must-have-legs-in-the-air baby. It's amazing how children really signal the passing of time. I'm sure I will have many more of these moments as he continues to grow up.

We managed to get a great video of the little man "talking" to us again. As soon as I figure out how to get it off of the video camera, I will be posting it. It's just precious.

Speaking of videos...we finally got our blu-ray DVD player. And the first video that we bought for it is "Planet Earth". It is truly amazing. I was a total skeptic...I kept wondering why in the world it mattered if we had a blu-ray or just a regular DVD player. Oh, it matters my friend! The picture is amazing! Not to mention that "Planet Earth" is spectacular in and of itself. Anyway, I would highly recommend the blu-ray.

On the agenda for the Keevers...Saturday we have our first class social event (for Josh's war college class). We're having a picnic on the base. After the big picnic, we'll be heading up to Birmingham to hang out with Nana and Caesar (my parents). We're also going up there so that I can find a dress for the Navy Birthday Ball, which is next weekend. On Sunday, we have church and then we'll be headed home for another regular week. So stay tuned...perhaps we'll have something fun to tell you about this weekend...Also on our horizon (fingers crossed) is a potential trip to Jacksonville, Florida to see the vast majority of our family...we're still hammering out the details of that one, though.

As always, some more pictures for your enjoyment...

Grandma and Grandpa's first visit

Grandma and Grandpa Keever finally got to meet Wyatt this past weekend. We had so much fun with them in town. We went to the pool, watched a lot of football, and just enjoyed their company. Uncle Isaac, Aunt Heather and little Ava made the trip too. It was so cute to see the cousins together...although, I think Ava was much more interested in playing with Buck (our dog). Hopefully we'll get to see them all again very soon!

Wyatt "talking" to Daddy

Wyatt has recently taken to carrying on "conversations" with Josh and me. He coos back as we talk to him. We've tried to catch him doing this on video, but each time we get out the camera, he clams up. So this little video clip is brief...and it takes him a minute to get going, but it is so precious! I'll try to post a better example soon!

A Weekend In Fairhope

We just got back from a wonderful weekend in Fairhope, Alabama with Nana (my mom) and Caesar (good ol Frank). We stayed at a friend of the family's house on the Mobile Bay. So a big thank you to the Fosters for letting us use their wonderful cottage! It was so nice to get away from it all for just a few days...even if we did still have all of the dogs with us!

When we got back from Fairhope, Josh and I took Wyatt up to the pool for his first swimming experience. He was a little resistant at first...the water was a bit cool...but after a few minutes he seemed to enjoy it. He wore his new bathing suit, hat and sunglasses that Nana bought him. He looked so cute! It all definitely wore him out and he took a little nap in his stroller.

Coming up on the Keever calendar...
Josh is headed to Washington DC this weekend for a conference with his class from school. So Wyatt and I are headed to Birmingham to visit with Nana and Uncle Trey! We are so excited that Trey is coming home for a visit and can't wait to see him! Then, next Thursday Grandma Keever, Grandpa Keever, Uncle Isaac, Aunt Heather and little Ava are coming to see us in Montgomery. I'm just thrilled that Wyatt will finally get to meet some more of his family! Now we'll just have to get up to Ohio and down to Florida soon so that he can meet everyone else!

As usual, here are some new Wyatt pictures for your enjoyment...

Finally made it...

Well, we finally made it to Montgomery, Alabama. We found a great apartment and moved in on August 25th. Now we're just slowly trying to furnish it...until then, we have some lovely furniture to get us through. haha.

Wyatt is starting to adjust to yet another new routine and schedule. Poor Buck is missing the hustle and bustle of Nana's house, but he'll get used to being the only dog around soon. Mostly the three of us just hang out while we wait on Josh to get home from class. Or I should say that Buck and Wyatt hang out while I do laundry, clean, etc.

This past weekend we headed back up to Birmingham for a visit with Aunt Joy and Uncle Dan, as well as Wyatt's first gameday. He was appropriately attired for this momentous occasion, but had to have an outfit change midday. (Ohio State was a morning game and Alabama was in the evening).

It was so great to see Aunt Joy and Uncle Dan. Wyatt's great uncle really seems to have a way with him...let's just call him Dan, The Baby Whisperer. haha

Well, that's about all that's been going on here lately. Tomorrow we head down to Mobile for a little R and R with Nana and Caesar (aka Grandpa Frank). So there should be some good pictures to follow. We're also anxiously awaiting the arrival of Grandma and Grandpa Keever on September 18th! This will be Wyatt's first time meeting them, so we are really excited! Stay tuned...and to keep you satisfied till the next post, here are a few new pictures of the little man...
